American vs. Euro Health Care: GERMAN MAN LOSES SKULL BUT WINS COURT CASE

August 31, 2007 · Leave a Comment

by MONDOREB

MEMO
COPIES TO:
All Democratic shills for socialized health care;
All the props at Dem Debates, whining that “nobody takes care of me”;
All in Congress laboring for expanding the government’s role via SCHIP.

Please refer to the following story.

A German court awarded a man 3,000 euros ($4,100) after he lost the top half of his skull because of faulty hospital equipment. The man’s skull had to be replaced with plastic because the cold storage where doctors placed the top of his head during surgery turned out to be defective.

Since the head was not kept cool enough by the faulty fridge, it could not be reattached. The man now has a plastic prosthetic skull.

He sought compensation of 20,000 euros on the grounds that the prosthesis gave him headaches, adversely affected his balance and made him extra-sensitive to the weather.

This is a perfect modern fairy tale about socialized medicine that you won’t see in a Michael Moore movie. It’s one reason that Canadians flock to the U.S. for many surgical procedures.

Those on the Left will complain that this is a “cherry-picked” moment: and so it is. Just as Democrats cherry-pick those poor souls who have been “left behind by the American health care system”. They are the exceptions, yet they get their 15 minutes of fame carping about the injustice of it all.

The next time you see a Democratic candidate on television shilling for more government control of our health care sector, remember the story of the poor German guy. They lost the top of his head, and he got 3000 Euros. Lose your skull, collect $4100. Maybe a good deal, maybe not. Just a reminder that the battlecry of those fighting against the socialization of American health care could be:
“Dude, give me back my head!”

THE GOLDILOCKS WAR

President Bush has my sincerest sympathies on the matter of the War On Terror. I read the various comments by the 101st Keyboard Brigades how the war is “lost” because we failed to be too “ruthless.” How the war was fought with Political Correctness instead of the goal to “win.”

Then there is the other side, the ones who believe we need to fight a “kinder, gentler” war. One where we win the “hearts and minds.” So we drop soccer balls from planes and have them thrown back in our face because they have on them the flags of the world including Saudi Arabia. “How insulting, we cannot kick a graphic of the Saudi flag!”

Two weeks after we went in after Sadaam, Ted Kennedy called the Iraq War a “quagmire.” John Kerry, during his bid for the Dem Presidency, claimed we needed forty thousand more troops.

Now the support from the Right Wing has eroded for President Bush. “We weren’t ruthless enough,” and “we should have bombed the crap out of them” or “why doesn’t Bush bomb Iran?”

The Other America thinks we are “fascist oppressors” while the America to the Right thinks we’re losing the War On Terror because Bush hasn’t done nearly enough.

Here is what I think. Among the whole world, who has stood up against the terrorists? It’s Bush. He may not have waged the best war but he stood alone and spoke out against those who declared war on us and slaughtered over three thousand of our men, women, and children one day in September, 2001.

Who else has stood up and declared Islamists as our enemy? Who else has vowed to fight them while other countries slink away?

Who has had to endure the cries of thuggery and fascism while others cry he is weak and ineffectual against those who wish to dominate us? This is not a “McDonald’s Fast Food War” where if we don’t win in 15 minutes it’s over.

This is a war that will take a massive amount of resolve. It’s not for the weak nor defeatists.

Like Goldilocks,to some this war is either too hot or too cold. But the fact remains, we are in a war that will determine whether our children and grandchildren will live in fear of those who hate us because we are free.

THE UPCOMING SINO-AMERICAN WAR

An American War with China is inevitable.

This is the opinion last week of Zachary Hubbard, a retired Army officer from near Johnstown, PA.

In a thoughtful, well-reasoned article in the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, Hubbard, who holds a master’s degree in military art and science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, lays out a grim scenario.

Meanwhile, in a country far, far away, the political, military and economic downfall of the United States is being planned by an intelligent, patient, industrious enemy who hopes never to fire a shot in anger, yet fully expects to win. Its goal: To replace the United States as the world’s reining superpower. The war, by all indications, may have already begun.

I don’t necessarily agree with all of Hubbard’s point, especially his depictions of Chinese-American trade. But he is far from alone in his concerns about an approaching U.S. war with the Chinese.
The Epoch times a few weeks ago carried the text of a recent speech given by Mr. Chi Haotian, Minster of Defense and vice-chairman of China’s Central Military Commission. In the published transcript, Chi Haotian argues for the depopulation of the USA via biological weapons, before re-colonizing it with Chinese natives.

Chi Haotian would have kept my attention. The following insights were sprinkled throughout his speech:
On the failure of the Nazis to conquer the US and UK in WWII:

What makes us different from Germany is that we are complete atheists, while Germany was primarily a Catholic and Protestant country.

and
The bottom line is, only China, not Germany, is a reliable force in resisting the Western parliament-based democratic system. On the need to not arouse Western fears
AND MORE

But the term “living space” (lebensraum) is too closely related to Nazi Germany. The reason we don’t want to discuss this too openly is to avoid the West’s association of us with Nazi Germany, which could in turn reinforce the view that China is a threat.

Now maybe Mr. Chi Haotian is the Chinese Lyndon LaRouche, without the charm. But Chi Haotian has a military command, which is much more impressive than LaRouche’s Army of Nutzoid Conspiracy Theorists. Chi Haotian’s also the winner in any Chi-LaRouche uniform fashion showdown.
Factor in talk of Chinese preparing for US war scenarios, a US-Chinese patent war, and a potential US-Chinese space war over US communication satellites, and you’d wonder if it might not be wise to place an online wager on war sometime soon.

If you tend toward the easily-alarmed, reading James Fellows’ numerous dispatches from China may calm you down. Fellows, an editor at Atlantic Monthly, details the many flaws in the Chinese system for unaware, non-visting readers.

So what to make of all this talk of the upcoming Sino-American war? I’m not so sure: my Magic 8-Ball is broken and my eyes glaze over just thinking of consulting Nostradamus. Americans can hope that U.S. political figures take the potential Chinese threats seriously.

But one thing you can count on: the topic will grace the cover of many a magazine and appear in countless news stories in the next decade.

Saudi Religious Police: AND THE WIND CRIED MARY…

August 30, 2007 · Leave a Comment

by Little Baby Ginn

I’m sitting here in my little skirt reading an article from Down Under. Australia held a “religious” art contest, the “Blake” prize, where two of the entries were a statue of the Virgin Mary covered by a burqa and picture of Osama Bin Laden depicting a holographic image of Jesus.

The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils President Ikebal Patel said the statue was “not at all offensive” because the Virgin Mary and Jesus were revered figures in Islam.

“So [Mary wearing a burqa] is no different to how our mothers and sisters are expected to be modest in their dressing,” Patel said.

(Pooja)–Gaza Dec 3 2006: Not in veil means immodesty

I guess, Taliban style regime is not far away from now in the Gaza strip.
Recently some anonymous group who personify itself the Just Swords of Islam has come out with a warning to the native women folk, which asserts that they are not suppose to go against the norms and traditions of Islam and so are not to be dressed in an ‘immodest’ manner.
The ‘immodest’ manner targets to not wearing of the ‘burqa’. They reveled that last week they threw acid on a girl’s
face who was not in the ‘hizab’. Addressing to the girls, they said, ‘We will have no mercy on any woman who violates the traditions of Islam and who also hang out in Internet cafes’.
They openly accepted the responsibility for attacks on 12 Internet cafes over the past few days and on a number of music shops in different parts of the Gaza Strip with the help of rocket propelled grenades.
They did so because it was ‘distracting an entire generation of Palestinians from their duty to worship [Allah] and jihad so that they could serve their Zionist masters and the Crusaders’.

(BBC)–Saudi Arabia March 15, 2007: 15 Saudi Girls Burned to Death

Saudi Arabia’s religious police stopped 15 schoolgirls from leaving a blazing building because they were not wearing correct Islamic dress, according to Saudi
newspapers.

Is Mr. Patel inferring that Mary is “immodest” in her regular “statue” garb?

I wonder, just how did Mary and Jesus end up in the Koran? I also wonder
if we took old Mo (Mohammed) and changed his status to say, from prophet to
Second Tier Angel, what would the Imams say? I bet it wouldn’t be pretty.

Psalm 108 and War On Terror: CONNECTED?

You’ve seen it: NBC or CNN trots out some guy that vaguely reminds you of the Unibomber’s righthand man. His unique facial structure make you think of him as “GopherBoy“. He then procedes to demonstrate how the KKK/Israelis were behind 9-11, using chicken wire, a box of matches and some left-overs he had in his refrigerator. Teachers at high schools all over America collectively exhale in relief: he’s not one of their former students.

Fast-forward a few weeks later: the same guy is on Larry King Live, trying to sell his DVD on his whacko theories.

LK: Hello, Des Moine, you’re on.
CALLER: Hello Larry! First-time caller and a Big Fan!
LK: Thanks! Do you have a question?
CALLER: Your guest was talking about how the KKK uses tables full of explosives, like when they blow up buildings? And there were tables in the Twin Towers; they found pieces of tables! I guess my question is: do you think, like, they might have used, like Bibles in the plot? You know, like under one of the tables legs to steady it up?
GOPHERBOY:(snorting) BIBLES?!?! I don’t believe in the Bible! It’s people who believe in the Bible who got us into this mess!

Whether or not one believes in the Bible as the Word of God, scanning it for clues to the future is at least as effective as trying to unscramble the convoluted scribblings of Nostradamus.

From this morning’s American Chronicle, author Helena Lehman explores a “hidden prophecy in Psalm 108″ and the War on Terror.

God (Elohim) has spoken in His holiness: ‘I will rejoice; I will divide (or separate) Shechem (a city of refuge in Ephraimite territory which now refers to the Palestinian allotment of land in the West Bank) and measure out (i.e. set apart) the Valley of Succoth (part of Gad’s ancient territory – refers to the Palestinian
occupied Gaza Strip).” -Psalm 108:1-7 (NKJ)

Now, I understand that the above is from Psalm 23, but you have to admit, it’s a nice pic with a Psalm verse on it.

Four Years In The Pen For Flushing A Book?

Scooby Dooby Do, where are you, ACLU?

In case you missed it a former student at Pace University was arrested and charged with a Hate Crime for allegedly dunking a Koran in the toilet at the school, not once, but twice.

For this crime, Stanlislav Schmulevich could get up to 4 years in the pen. Four years for throwing a book in a toilet. Would we see the detectives of NYC’s finest throwing their investigative powers behind a Bible dunker?

This smacks of China, Cuba, or Iran, the government charging and convicting someone with a “Hate Crime” and then locking him or her up in prison all over a book.
But not just any book, this was a Koran. Like I said before, if it were a Bible or the Torah, forgetaboutit, the cops would laugh the complainers out of the station.

Does the crime justify the time? Hell no. Has the ACLU come to his defense for exercising his Free Speech? Hell no. Are we headed down the slippery slope of Thought Police? Hell yes.
In the old days we might be talking a fine but these are the New Days where offending Muslims by throwing a Koran in a toilet will get you a four stretch in the Big House.

This bastard would have been better off sticking a statute of Jesus on a bucket of piss. I mean it worked for the guy who actually did do this and then called it “art.”

If not the ACLU, then who defends the 1st Amendment? We need a champion: someone who will speak up for free speech.

All I hear is the silence of the Libs.

War on Terror Vs. Pot Growers

If you hang out in a fever swamp, chances are you will catch a fever. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t have periods of lucidity. Whether one disagrees with DrugReporter’s politics, they are correct in this story.

Last time we checked in on the bizarro nexus between cannabis and terrorism, it was none other than actor/director Tommy Chong who was feeling the Bush administration’s post-9/11 wrath. In fact, the stoner icon, whose fabled act was concurrently resuscitated for Fox’s drugged and confused comedy hit That 70s Show, was being slapped by John Ashcroft with a nine-month prison bid, a $20,000 fine and over $100,000 in seized assets for selling bongs. The terrorism connection? He was sentenced on Sept. 11, 2003. And if you think that’s a specious connection, it’s only gotten worse since. In fact, over the last few years, “terrorist” has become an epithet for all seasons.

When federal officials call on American citizens to help them in the War on Terror, we don’t mind pitching in: forgoing convenience in unending airport lines, increased surveillance, and unexpected searches are just a few of the ways.

BUT, those same officials have a responsibility to see that these powers granted to them are not misappropriated in the inane War on Drugs. Citizens will abide measures used to prevent potential terror attacks. When these same measures are used to nab Stoner Johnny, the kid down the street selling a dime bag, we shouldn’t be as forgiving.

Ambitious police and zealous prosecutors are, thankfully, in the minority in most areas. But they are still a real threat to ordinary Americans going about their business.

Every time a War on Terror law is twisted to benefit drug warriors in their battle against otherwise law-abiding Americans, there’s less leeway for gaining what’s needed the next time REAL TERROR problems need fixing.

Nuge, Dude, WTF?

(Via Rolling Stone)
Renegade right-winger Ted Nugent recently went on a vicious onstage rant in which he threatened the lives of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.” Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming “freedom!”

I viewed the video of Nugent up on the stage, waving his electric guitars around ranting while making crude and obscene remarks about Senator’s Clinton and Obama.

Was he drunk? Was he crazy? Was he crazy drunk? After what I saw I really don’t care what “state” he was in that what I cared about was his behavior. It was worse than childish it was vulgar, crude, and highly inflammatory.

Several have maintained the Nugent did his little nasty rant in order to elicit a “response.”

Just what kind of “response” did he intend to “illicit” by crowing this to the crowd:

“Obama, he’s a piece of shit, and I told him to suck on my machine gun.”

I’ve read that many took this as a direct threat to kill Obama. Was this the “response” he hoped to illicit? My interpretation was that the “machine gun” was a certain vulgar part of Nugent’s anatomy.

Or this one:

“Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.”

Some have argued that Nugent used a “Free Speech” card. Okay, I can handle that but this doesn’t free him from criticism.

Here is my turn on Free Speech. Someone should get a bar of soap and wash his mouth out. Not once, but several times. He should apologize to Clinton and Obama and retract his “statements.” He needs to realize that what he’s done has dragged the image of rock n roll gun toters back to the ranting knuckledragger stereotype.

The Democrats are angry about this as they have every right to be.
I’m appalled by Nugent’s big fat mouth and equally appalled by those who thought it was just fine.

Americans Split on Whether We’re Winning

August 28, 2007 · 2 Comments

According to Rasmussen, the American people think the jury’s still out on the War on Terror verdict.

People in the United States do not yet see a clear victor in the war on terrorism, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 39 per cent of respondents think their country and its allies are winning the conflict, up three points since mid-July.

Conversely, 32 per cent of respondents think the terrorists are ahead, while 23 per cent say neither side is actually winning.

Camping enthusiasts scored one for their side when they secured a Peeping Tom. Making it just a little safer for people everywhere to gather outside and sing “Kumbaya” around the campfire.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A group of campers tied a peeping Tom suspect to a tree, keeping him bound until police arrived.

Richard H. Berkey, 63, was charged with private indecency, a misdemeanor, by sheriff’s deputies who were called to the Big Fan Campground near Bagby Hot Springs, according to Clackamas County Detective Jim Strovink.
